Watching anime has been my hobby since I was young. It has slowly become my addiction, too. Despite my busy schedule, I always find excuses for myself to enjoy this sweet guild rather than school work.
"Akame ga Kill", a twenty-four-episode anime is the latest I have watched. Bloody action, romance, and a bit of comedy, this anime tells a story of a killer association which is working for a revolution power trying to overthrow the corrupted country.
The main character is a girl, Akame. Literally, her name means "Red Eye", and of course she has red eyes. With her long black hair, her weapon is a sword, which contain a curse killing the one who is cut immediately. I guess the production group could not come up with any cool names for the characters. The same thing applies to her younger sister, "Kurome", which means "Black Eye". It makes it weird that the sisters is genetically not match; one with black eyes and another with red eyes. Moreover, the anime name itself is kinda lack of creativity, too. It directly suggests that Akame is the main character.
At the very beginning, it leads me to believe that the male character, "Tastumi" is the main character, since he is the first one to appears. Throughout the anime, he is highly exposed and is the center of the plot. Tastumi was from a far-away village with his childhood friends to earn money in the city to provide financial aids to the village. The atmosphere is relaxing at first, until both of his friends were tricked to become cruel "toys" of a rich family, which Tastumi almost follows the same path. The dark side of the rich is shown and the twisted facial expression makes it even perfect. Tastumi is rescued by "Night Raid", a six-people killer group. Being naive and yearn for living in the city at first, Tastumi has become one of the group when he discovered the truth about his friends. He kills the last member of the family, and joins the group. Since then, he works his way to survive and determines to change this country by revolution.
The changing emotion of this anime is strong. I thought I was watching an action + comedy anime, but suddenly it has become bloody and dark.
As his teammates gradually get killed in the mission one by one, he never gives up, and trains himself to continue the hope and obligation of the dead ones.
